Book Review: The Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker

Members of the Vise Library were selected to review The Witch Hunter.  We received a copy of Virginia Boecker's book for an honest review.

This book is full of so much action and twists and turns.  Elizabeth has been a witch hunter with her friend Caleb.  She is the best at it, but her world is turned upside down when she is accused of being a witch herself.  She is thrown in jail and left to die, until an unlikely source comes to rescue her.  Nicholas Perevil is the most hunted "evil" wizard and he comes to her while she is in jail.  He is able to help her escape in exchange for her help.  I won't give anymore of the plot away, because you need to read it for yourself.  I will tell you that you won't be disappointed and will enjoy this book the whole way through.  There is never a dull moment and Elizabeth really discovers herself.  She learns what true evil is and question her previous beliefs.  At times she has to hide what her former job was in order to keep the people she cares about.  There is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end of the book.  I really hope this is a series, because I loved reading about Elizabeth and her new found friends.  She learns how to stand on her own and that she is not alone.  This book comes out in June, so make sure to check-out our copy once it arrives!

Virginia Boecker recently spent four years in London obsessing over English medieval history, which formed the basis of her debut novel, The Witch Hunter. She now lives in the Bay Area, California with her husband and spends her days writing, reading, running, and chasing around her two children and a dog named George.
