Book Review: Those Girls by Chevy Stevens

Members of the Vise Library were selected to review Those Girls.  We received a copy of Chevy Steven's book for an honest review.

About the book:

Life has never been easy for the three Campbell sisters. Jess, Courtney, and Dani live on a remote ranch in Western Canada where they work hard and try to stay out of the way of their father's temper. One night, a fight gets out of hand and the sisters are forced to go on the run, only to get caught in an even worse nightmare when their truck breaks down in a small town. As events spiral out of control they find themselves in a horrifying situation and are left with no choice but to change their names and create new lives.

Eighteen years later, they are still trying to forget what happened that summer. But when one of the sisters goes missing, followed closely by her niece, they are pulled back into the past. And this time there's nowhere left to run.

With Those Girls Chevy Stevens presents her most visceral thriller yet: an unforgettable portrait of desperation, loyalty, and evil. A story of survival...and revenge.
Chevy Stevens always writes amazing thrillers.  Those Girls is no different.  This story centers around three sisters that had to escape their past.  They must create all new identities when when more than one horrific event happens (one being an alcoholic and abusive father and the other being in the form of strangers offering to "help").  However, they are forced back into the past when one of the sisters goes missing.  From there, the sisters have to take a walk back into the past and face what they have tried so hard to run from.  The bond that these sisters have is just incredible.  Not only does Stevens have you on the edge of your seat with how intense this book is, but she also gives you emotions on top of that to deal with.  She is also able to paint such terrifying and vivid pictures.  This ending is anything but predictable and I love that I wasn't able to guess what the ending would be.  This is my favorite Chevy Stevens book to date!
